Hier sur l’Amstel Gold Race. L’Italien Samuele Battistella (Astana) a lourdement chuté à 75 kilomètres de l’arrivée. Durant un long moment, il n’a pas bougé laissant craindre le pire pour le coureur. Inconscient durant une vingtaine de minutes, il a été transporté à l’hôpital. Au final, il a une dent de cassée et 7 points de sutures (4 points au niveau du sourcil et 3 sur la lèvre).
Samuele Battistella: « J’ai oublié ce qui s’est passé hier pendant l’Amstel Gold Race.Je suis tombé si fort sur le sol que je suis resté inconscient pendant plus de 20 minutes. Heureusement, le personnel médical et l’hôpital m’ont dit que tout allait bien. J’ai juste besoin de récupérer et de rester sous surveillance. »
