C’est l’Allemand Tony Martin qui remporte aujourd’hui son troisième titre mondial de champion du Monde du contre la montre. A Florence, au terme des 57,9 km su un circuit plat, il devance Bradley Wiggins de 42 sec et Fabien Cancellara de 48 sec
Il a dominé l’épreuve tout au long du circuit, se permettant de mettre 28 sec d’avance sur « Spartacus » Cancellara au 3 ème temps intermédiaire. Wiggins et Cancellara se sont livrés un belle bataille mais pour la médaille d’argent tant Tony Martin semblait inaccessible pour la première place. Au final, Wiggins a donné tout ce qu’il avait pour décrocher cette 2 ème place à seulement 2 sec devant Spartacus.
Nicolas Roche décroche une très belle 13 ème place au fianl et le premier Français est Sylvain Chavanel, le champion de France de la spécialité se place à la 22 ème position.
