La Bretagne est une terre de cyclisme. Hennebont Cyclisme est l’un de ses représentants. Son président Cédric Le Ny qui est un ancien coureur s’est jeté dans cette aventure si difficile de diriger un club. C’est un passionné qui jette ses forces tel le coureur qu’il était pour faire vivre son club. Les résultats sont au rendez-vous pour les gars du Cyclisme Hennebont avec 69 podiums et 29 victoires en 2012. Cette année, avec un bel effectif, à l’image l’Anglais Doug Dewey qui s’offre deux courses en l’espace d’un week-end sur les six victoires à son compteur cette saison. Derrière, il y a aussi David Chopin, 24 ans , régulièrement dans les attaques et dans le top ten des courses nationales, le Britannique Sam Allen, 22 ans, avec une belle place de 8ème au général de l’Essor Breton. Le club se montre aussi dans d’autres spécialités comme le cyclo-cross avec Aurélien Daniel et Yoann Corbihan qui sont parmi les meilleurs français de la spécialité. Chez les femmes, la championne de France de poursuite individuelle et Championne de Bretagne sur route Aude Biannic fait partie de cet effectif.
Cédric Le Ny, vous êtes à la tête du « Cyclisme Hennebont », dites nous en plus sur ce club ?
« Hennebont existe depuis 25 ans, à la base c’est une fonderie Bretonne. Depuis cinq ans, le team a montré qu’il était capable de sortir des professionnels à l’image de Stéphane Connan qui avait signé à l’époque chez Agritubel . Nous sommes Vice-champion des DN3, mais nous se pas montés faute de budget, on compte 54 licenciés (dont 12 première catégorie). Nous avons des équipes 1 et 2 et elles sont dans une osmose complète. Quand vous rentrez chez nous, rien n’est figé pour qui commence en équipe. Nous sommes un club formateur avec un bel effectif en 1 ère et chez les féminines sous sommes fiers d’avoir la championne de France espoirs Aude Biannic. L’Anglais Doug Dewey est très fort dans les contre-la-montre avec une belle saison pour l’instant. Nous avons un beau club formateur. »
Justement, vous avez, dans vos effectifs des coureurs anglo-saxons comme Dewey ou Allen, mais cela fait des années que vous recruter un effectif provenant de différents pays?
« Oui, effectivement, mais je ne sais pas si nous avons vocation à faire tout ça, mais j’ai toujours été intéressé par le cyclisme étranger. Au début le coureur Phil Gale est venu chez nous une année, et ensuite Mike Cunning qui lui est passé pro. Depuis huit ans nous avons une grosse vocation pour le cyclisme étranger avec des coureurs Anglais, Gallois, Australien ou Néerlandais. Je m’entends très bien avec les coureurs étrangers comme Douglas Dewey et Sam Allen. J’ai aussi accueilli un Canadien Ryan Anderson ou James McLaughlin qui est désormais membre du team pro Sojasun espoirs. Erwan Brenterch (VC Rouen) qui a été meilleur Breton de la mi-août Bretonne, dans les vingt premiers à Plumelec. Il faut beaucoup de patience et d’investissement pour encadrer ce genre de team, c’est l’aspect humain qui doit primer avant tout, les garder heureux sur un vélo tout en les formant. Quand on accueille des étrangers, il faut savoir comprendre qu’ils ont déracinés et qu’ils ont besoin de se retrouver, de r trouver des marques et donc on s’adapte à eux afin qu’ils puissent s’épanouir totalement . »
En ce moment vous réalisez une belle saison et de beaux podiums
« Oui, c’est une bonne saison mais elle n’est pas encore finie. L’année dernière nous avions effectué une très belle année 2012 avec le titre de vice-champion de France. en 2011, nous avions gagné le prix directvelo. En 2013, avec Aude Biannic et Dewey on fait une très belle saison. Il y a encore Plouay notamment et on espère que nous aurons de belles surprises et nous serons sur les courses pour faire parler de nous. »

The Cycling Hennebont opens abroad
Brittany is a cycling paradise. Hennebont Cycling club is one of its representatives. Its president Cedric Le Ny is a former cyclist who was thrown into this difficult adventure of running a club. Cédric Le Ny, you are the head of the « Cycling Hennebont » tell us more about this club?
« Hennebont existed for 25 years, the foundation is a Breton foundry. For five years, the team has shown that it is capable of training professional like Stéphane Conan who had signed at the time in Agritubel. We are Vice-Champion DN3, but we will not go up next season because of budget. There are 54 licensees (including 12 first class). We have teams 1 and 2 and they are in complete harmony. When you come in our club, nothing is fixed for starting in a team. We are a club with a good trainer effective in 1st team and for the women, we are proud to have the champion of France hopes Aude Biannic. The Englishman Doug Dewey is very strong against the clock with a nice season so far. We have a beautiful formative club. «
Exactly, you have in your team some Anglo-Saxon cyclists like Dewey or Allen, but it’s been years since you recruit riders from different countries?
« Yes, but I do not know if we are called to do this, but I’ve always been interested in foreign cycling. At first, the rider Phil Gale came in our club one year, and then Mike Cunning who became pro. Since eight years we have a big interest for foreign cycling with rider English, Welsh, Australian or Dutch in our team. I get along very well with foreign cyclists like Douglas Dewey and Sam Allen. I also received a Canadian Ryan Anderson and James McLaughlin who is now a member of the team pro Sojasun espoir. « Yes, it’s a good season, but it is not over yet. Last year we made a very good year in 2012 with the title of vice-champion of France. In 2011, we won the directvelo price. In 2013, Aude Biannic and Dewey had a realy good season. There are still a race in Plouay and we hope that we will have some good surprises and we will be racing on to attract attention. «
